Yukai is a Japanese restaurant located at 183 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON. The name of the restaurant is "Yukai." Roughly translated from Japanese to English to "fusion" and comes from combining traditional Japanese elements with Toronto, fusing the two different cultural countries. The inspiration behind the design came from the essential Japanese cultural tool, the chopstick. Chopsticks are simple but innovative, and their design excels in use. We were influenced by the chopsticks' physical properties, linear lines, diagonal, horizontal, vertical lines, and wooden elements. But also, the function was effortless and provided a practical yer simple solution to eat. These are all elements we took into consideration when designing the space.
